My Love for Bohol

bohol blog, places bohol blogs, bohol blogger philippines, love bohol philippinesI will not tell you all the reasons why I love Bohol. If I would, this would be a book and not a blog post!

I was born and raised here in Bohol, Philippines. A humble island in the 7, 641 islands of this archipelago. I am more than grateful that in the millions of places, I could have been,

I am here.

Let me give you now a glimpse somehow of my provincial life through The Five Reasons Why I Love Bohol! And why you should too. 😉

1. Let us start with The Beaches!

If I want to relax and swim or just sit by the shore and watch the sunset, I could access a beach in 20- 30 minutes with lots to choose from! And if I feel adventurous and want a longer trip, there are many choices around the province with some added bonus. The islets around Bohol (more or less 70) are also worth exploring and are amazing places for swimming, snorkelling, and diving! (Don’t worry, I will be telling you about it soon!)

2. The Hills and Trails

Bohol is not a mountainous province but there are lots of hills with scenic views and hiking trails that me and my friends go to whenever we feel like we have too much of the beach.  So we go camping on hills or trek on trails that lead to waterfalls and springs! Cool right? There are also trails in the forested areas where you can smell wildlife and get to know the different flora and fauna found in the province.

3. The People (This is without bias friends. 😉 )

You’ve probably heard about how hospitable Filipinos are, I have nothing against that. But let me tell you this, which is not just based on personal observation but also from visitors’ observation– that Boholanos are more hospitable and friendlier. (Char.)

And we can witness that through history! In fact, the first recorded international treaty of friendship between white and brown races happened in this humble island.

That aside, Boholanos are rich in culture, and different towns have different things to offer!

4. The Lifestyle

Visitors always comment on how laid back the Boholanos are. While I assure you that is the truth, life in Bohol is far from boring. There are so many things you can do and if you engage in these activities, you will have a busy life. A busy life that is never far from relaxation whenever needed. 😉

5. It’s Full of Surprises!

Believe me. I’ve been rambling around Bohol since I was little and I’ve been to lots of places outside the province too. But this place always has little surprises in store which I am excited to share with you soon!
