The province of Bohol, Philippines has a bunch of waterfalls you can explore.
One of those is Canumantad Falls in the town of Candijay – Bohol’s highest waterfall.

Even as a local, it is far compared to other waterfalls. But it has its charm, and a visit there is always worth it, especially when visiting places close to the place like Alicia Panoramic Park.
Here are the things you should know before going to Canumantad Falls:
- There are a few sari-sari stores on the way to the waterfalls. However, it’s better to bring your own food and water because there are no stores in the waterfall area.
- There’s a small entrance/environmental fee per person to access to falls.
- They have small comfort rooms and changing rooms.
- Picnic bamboo tables are available for a small fee.
- The foot of the waterfall is safe for swimming and is really shallow so you can walk from the edge to under the waterfall.

Going to Canumantad Falls
If you are staying in Panglao or Tagbilaran City, it’s more than two hours to go there by motorcycle or car. Depending on your route.

If you are going on a commute, ride a bus or van going to the town of Candijay then ride a motorcycle (habal-habal) or tricycle from the town center to go to the waterfall.
You can also book a tour.

This is literally on top of the waterfalls. You will pass by this area going to the parking area for the falls. You can also choose to trek passing by the rice paddies to go down to the waterfall.
It’s a steep walk but still fun!

Alicia Panoramic Park
One of my favorite stops going to Alicia Panoramic Park is the waterfalls. It’s a nice refreshing dip after a camp in the hills.

Canawa Cold Spring
This is a good stop too since it’s near the waterfall.
Mostly visited by locals, this spring pool is the best to beat the heat. It’s also really deep that it has a deep blue color. It’s not recommended for non-swimmers though. It’s fun to see locals jumping from the trees to the deep spring.
