I am a fan of organic products and have been using organic as much as I could. Using these products reduces risks on the side effects of chemicals that are put in most hygiene products. And of course, without harmful chemicals, it is safe for the environment.
I came across this artisanal organic soap that is based in Bohol and are made using local materials. So I went on a mission to test it! 💪
First thing I loved about it were the names, I had the samples of; Spiced Malunggay, Honey Tablea Soap, Corn Coffee and Charcoal Soap, Oats Clay Soap, Cinnamon Clay Soap and Apple Pie Soap (a holiday special)….. Doesn’t that sound tasty?😋 (I love food.). I almost licked them. Almost. (Pls. Don’t taste it though)
So after few weeks of trying these samples, I was already telling my friends about it. I loved the fact that they used local materials to produce it which means, if you buy it you are helping local businesses grow too.
I also loved the idea of it being organic and plastic free. It’s always a guilt-free trip to the bathroom!
Here are the soaps that I love the most:
Spiced Malunggay
This was the first one I tried and was overwhelmed by it because of the tiny pieces of spices that act as the scrub. I wasn’t used to soaps like that since most soaps with microbeads are microplastic which is number one plastic polluter so I avoided everything that has microbeads. But these one are spices so completely biodegradable!
Honey Tablea Soap
Because honey is said to be very good for the skin. It is naturally antibacterial which is good for acne treatment and prevention. It is also said to have antioxidants and can give you a complexion boost and glow. You can check if I really have a glowing skin in Instagram — follow @the_boholana. 😂
Corn Coffee and Charcoal Soap
Also provides deep cleansing and exfoliation. What I like about this is its use of local corn coffee and I love black. 😍
Generally, you need to use one soap regularly to really feel its effects on your skin. Since I jumped from one soap to another, I can’t properly judge.
But then, it’s always good to have a daily dose of a guilt-free shower!
